Paint Color Trends for 2017

AFTER
After several years of neutrals, grays, and whites, braver color choices are showing up in traditional and contemporary homes. These pops of color can be understated or dramatic depending on personalities and the mood you want your space to evoke.
Pantone
Global color authority, Pantone, has chosen the fresh and zesty yellow-green shade  of Greenery as its Color of the Year for 2017. The refreshing and revitalizing shade is symbolic of new beginnings and according to the company’s website is “a versatile ‘trans-seasonal’ shade that lends itself to many color combinations.” Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, describes how the company came to choose Greenery. “Greenery burst forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.” While Greenery may be the most talked about single color of the year, it is by no means the only current color trend.
